The Therapist by B.A. Paris
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
I’m pretty sure I’ve read all of B. A. Paris’s books (I’ll have to double-check that) and she definitely does domestic thrillers well. I wasn’t sure how I’d feel about this book by the end because I was getting fairly annoyed with Alice and her wishy-washiness and Leo’s behavior which was taking me down the path of thinking this was just another very formulaic domestic thriller. Sometimes I think I have to quit reading them because either the stories are too similar to others or too over-the-top to be believed.
The Therapist did push my BS meter a bit but, overall, I’m a satisfied reader. There were lots of twists and turns and suspicious people to keep me guessing. And the narrator for the audiobook did a fine job. I don’t want to write much about the actual plot or anything like that so suffice it to say that if you’re a fan of the genre and/or you’ve enjoyed any of the author’s previous offerings, I feel confident that you’ll also like this one.
Big thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for hooking me up with an audiobook copy for review!
